with half the sugar (so 1/2 cup) and it was still too sweet..
I didn't use almond extract.
I used maybe 2 cups of fresh cherries instead of 4..
and I finished the pie with a lattice top found here..
it was my first time making the lattice top. I basted it with egg yolk before slicing the dough into strips and everything. Next time I'll add less liquid from the cherries so it doesnt go over the lattice.
